Our
Vision
Grace
Church was founded in 1989 by a couple of young preachers
who had a vision: a vision to see the world won to Jesus
Christ and to see all of those who became Christians
to fulfill God's purposes for their lives. Shortly after
beginning the church, these young men developed a mission
statement for the church: Working together to reach
the world with the clear Gospel of grace and equipping every believer with the truth of God's Word. That has
always been the vision of Grace Church and will continue
to be until the Lord returns.
Our Purpose
As
you read our mission statement, there are two distinct
goals mentioned. The first is to spread the good news
of Christ to the entire world. The second is to
grow Christians through God's Word and the power of
the Holy Spirit into the men, women, teens, and children
God designed them to be. These ideas were not drawn
out of thin air, but are actually based on two passages
of scripture where Christ tells believers what every
one of God's children should accomplish while on earth.
The first passage is Matthew 28:19 & 20 and is called
"The Great Commission." It says, "Go
and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you."
The second passage is Matthew 22:37-40, known as the
"Great Commandment." It tells us: "Love
the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all your mind…
Love your neighbor as yourself.
All the law and the prophets hang on these two commandments."
Within
these two passages, we see five distinct purposes that
God has left for believers and the church to accomplish.
These five purposes are listed above.
These
are the five purposes
that we believe God wants us to accomplish here at Grace
Church. This is our vision and our purpose for existing,
so everything we do is structured around helping our
members to accomplish these five purposes in their lives.
