Safety First (Policies & Procedures)

  • General Check in and Check out of Children:

Using our Computer Check In system, parents will check in their children into the appropriate classroom.  Nursery children are checked in at the Nursery. Preschool and Elementary age children are checked in at the Computer Check in center located downstairs in the main room.

Children will be given name tags with a number on them.  The child will wear their name tag.  Parents will receive a receipt for Preschool to Elementary aged children and a wristband, if in the nursery. This receipt or wristband is required to check out your child from class. The receipts and wristbands have a number on them.  This number will flash on the screen if your child requires your attention during service.  The Children will only be returned to the parent with the matching number. There may be a custody situation between parents that we are unaware of. Therefore, a child will not be returned to anyone other than the person with the corresponding receipt. If a parent has lost their wristband or receipt or has questions regarding the enforcement of this policy, please talk with a Climb staff member. Under no circumstances will a child be returned to anyone without the wristband. This includes parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, baby-sitters, friends and neighbors.

Nursery - 4th grade:
Children must be signed in and signed out of their classroom by the parent. Even if a child says he is to meet his parent, they are not allowed to be released. When service is over, the number on the receipt that was given to the parent at the time of check in will be checked and made sure it corresponds with the child being checked out.

Grades 5 - 6:
Children may be dismissed after service on their own if they know where to meet their parents. Keep in mind some parents may ask for their child to stay in the room until they come to pick them up.

After sundown, ALL children, regardless of age or grade, must remain in their classroom until picked up by a parent.

  • Contacting a Parents of a child in need:
If you have a child between the ages of 0-4 th grade who needs you for any of the below reasons, the number given to you at check in will be displayed on the screen in the sanctuary.
    • If the child becomes ill.
    • If the child has been injured.
    • If the child has been crying for more than 10 minutes.

  • Well Child policy:
If your child has had a fever in the last 24 hours or if a child has a runny nose, persistent cough, fever, rash or any other signs of illness we will ask the parent to keep their child with them. If the Nursery leader notices this during the service time parents will be notified through our paging system. The parent will then need to come and pick up their child. Staff cannot give children medication.
  • Parent/Infant room: In the event you need to have your child with you during service, we have a very nice child/infant room for you and your child to sit in. It is located next to the sanctuary. Here you will be able to enjoy the service.
