Life is a journey! Sometimes it is so exciting that you can't wait to see what comes next! Other times our journey is hard and we wish we were not on it! But the one truth of this journey is that as a Christian we are NEVER alone! God promises that He will never leave us or disown us! How cool is that? So where ever your journey has taken you remember you are not alone and I challenge you to live a life that pleases God, the faithful partner in your journey! Deuteronomy 31:6

Last
month we took a deeper look into the Bible and found
that there are many teenagers who experience many
of the things we do in our lives. David attacked
everything for God when everyone else thought he
couldn't! Samuel learned to listen to God when his
family life was horrible. Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego were three guys who realized that they
needed to do what was right even when everyone else
was doing the opposite. Lastly we looked as Timothy,
a guy who led an entire church and stepped out
in boldness for the Lord in spite of His age! See!
The Bible is relevant and something we need to spend
time reading and figuring out how God will change
us through the studying of His truth.

Our weekend service times
are 5:00 and 6:30pm Saturday night and 8:30, 10:00 and 11:30am
on Sundays. Most of the youth attend the 10:00am
service and you can sit with us on the right side
of the sanctuary. |

number one priority here at THE AWAKENING is that you
experience an atmosphere of God's love! We welcome you
with open arms, no matter where you are in life, no matter
what you have done, what you look like or where you are
in your relationship with God. We want you to join us.
The
Bible tells us that we all need
Jesus and we want you to join us on the journey of
growing closer to Him! We can all learn and challenge
each other. We all know that life is better when we walk
through it with friends. We offer to you several ways
to get involved. If you are looking for a large group
in which to worship God and figure what the Christian
life is all about, join us at our mid-
week
program AXIS. If you desire
to grow in a real-life setting with accountability and
Bible-study, our small groups called Satellite
Groups are what you are looking for. If God has called
you to be a leader or you have a passion to pray for others
our L-Team is a student
led team that seeks to serve other students here at Grace
Church.
What to Expect At AXIS
1. Expect
to have an encounter with God.
-
God is there in all that we do every day. But we try
to give you an encounter with Him through singing, prayer
and the study of Him!
2.
Expect to be challenged and grow through lessons geared
to real life.
- The bible is livable …practical! Sometimes
we just need to figure out how. Lets, figure out how
to live the bible together.
3.Times
- We meet on Wednesday nights from 7:00pm – 9:00pm
in the sanctuary of Grace Church 6969 Sheridan Blvd
Arvada 80003

Events
- Since this is a time of high energy we try to mix
it up and change the format for Axis. We have worship
nights, Staff vs. Student night, FEAR FACTOR and All
You Can Eat pizza. We bring the event to you….all
you need to do is show up!
5.
What to wear?
- We believe in modesty! Our culture is saturated with
sex and sexual images! This is a time to focus on God
and not our bodies so please dress not to distract.
Safety
Safety
is an important concern for us! Not only do we want THE
AWAKENING to be a place where you can develop awesome
friends and grow closer to God, but to be a place where
you know that you will be safe. To provide a safe atmosphere
we need to have some rules. But remember, these are to
rules not to restrict your fun but to assure that you
can have the most fun and the best experience!
Our
rules:
1.
No Bad Language. What we say lets others know
what we think and believe, we want to glorify God with
every area of our life…our words are one way
we need to worship God.
2.
No leaving campus during any lesson or worship.
We are concerned about your well being and want to maintain
a safe atmosphere for you. We are not a prison, but
we want to keep you safe.
3.
Be respectful of those who are worshiping and learning
from the lesson. We believe that everyone deserves
respect and should get it…especially when learning
and praising God.
4.
No Cell Phones or electronics. We all have
them but they only distract us from focusing on what’s
important. If you need a phone just let us know.
5.
No PDA (public display of affection) –
if you need more than a hug, go home.
6.
No Tobacco/drugs/alcohol . This is pretty self-explanatory,
but if you struggle with these we want to help!
How to get your student involved
1.
Prayer is always the first step:
God needs to be our primary focus and we need to be
seeking His wisdom.

st Thessalonians 5:17-18 (NLT)
“[17] Keep on praying.
[18] No matter what happens, always be thankful, for
this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
2.
Talk to the Youth Ministry Staff:
Our youth staff would love to talk with you and talk
to your student and personally invite them to attend
THE AWAKENING. It is our desire to make everyone
feel welcome and show them the love of Christ.
3.
Attend with them:
If your student will not attend because they do not
feel comfortable talking with our youth staff, you
may want to offer to go with them. This may be the
support they need to see from you and the comfort
most students need to start something new.
