Youth / X-perience God

Ready to Experience God & Really GROW?

2 Peter 3:18 (TEV)
But continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory, now and forever! Amen.

Throughout our lives we are always growing! Our body may stop getting bigger but we still grow hair daily, our body changes …heck, our nose and ears grow for our whole life! So it makes sense that since our bodies are always growing we need to continue to grow in our relationship with God. At THE AWAKENING what we mean by “growth” is the continual process of understanding God’s grace in our lives and then learning how to live it.

Ways to GROW

Salvation

The first step in Growth is simple. You need to have a relationship with God. Now this may sound like it is something hard to do! But here is the cool thing, God wants a relationship with you! God created us to have a relationship with him and desires to have that relationship. But, the Bible tells us that we are all sinners and are not perfect. Since we are not perfect this prevents us from having a relationship with God. To mend our relationship, God sent his only son Jesus to live a perfect life, one without sin, and die on a cross to pay the penalty for our sins! But to show us that he was God, Jesus rose from the dead three days after he died showing us that he conquered sin and death! By Jesus doing this we now have the opportunity to receive that free gift of forgiveness and eternal life with God in Heaven! How do we receive this gift? Well, Jesus in the Bible tells us that all we need to do is trust God and believe that Jesus did this for us and that he is the only way to receive the gift of forgiveness and salvation.

If you want to do this just simply tell God that you want this relationship and that you understand that you need him. Let him know that you believe that his Son paid the penalty for your sin and the sin of the whole world and that it’s through him alone that you can receive forgiveness.

If this is something you just did, CONGRATULATIONS! You can rest assured that you now have a relationship with God and you can now begin to live your life with purpose! We are told that angels rejoice in heaven every time someone puts their trust in Jesus….they are partying because of you!

Baptism

Baptism is one of the first steps that we take after we trust in Christ as our Savior. Why we do this is simple, it is a public representation of the inner change that God has made in our life. We have Baptism services that are held at the church on the first Saturday night of every month. Sign up is necessary and a packet needs to be filled out.

Satellite Groups – link to Satellite group Page

Our Satellite Groups meet to answer those tough questions, to pray and grow closer to each other. We have groups that meet weekly in various locations to keep each other accountable in love and to be changed into what God desires us to be! We all need intimacy and AXIS is not enough! Join a Satellite Group and discover real relationships!

Hang Out

Another simple way that we can grow as Christians is simply by hanging out with other Christians. In the book of Acts, Chapter 2, Verse 42 it says that part of being a Christian is hanging out, talking about God and eating. How cool is that! Part of being a Christian is hanging out! It is amazing what we can learn from each other, experience together and learn about God through the lives of those we interact with.

Need Prayer?

Life is hard! God is so cool that he asks us to talk to him about what is going on in our life. Our relationship with God is like any other relationship. It gets better over time and communication is necessary to maintain a good relationship. We are promised in the Bible that God will always hear our prayer and that we should talk to him about everything that is going on in our lives.

We want to join you in prayer for anything that is going on in your life! At Grace we have a Prayer Hotline (720) 895-9005 that you can call and leave a message with your request and we will pray for your needs! Or, if you need to talk to a staff member call the church office at (720) 895-9000.
